I think every woman who has ever held the role of “Stay-at-home-mom” can agree that the hardest part of it was not bringing in your own income.
Of course, there are so many other challenging situations that go into staying home with your kids, not making your own money is a particularly tough one. Think about it, as a non-working parent, you’re literally dependent upon another human being to provide for you and your wellbeing. You’re also having to trust that this person is always going to feel compelled to do so.
I’m not trying to turn this into a post to make you question your husband’s feelings, but speaking as somebody who has been hoodwinked by a man I thought I could trust, it would be irresponsible of me to not give my fellow ladies some advice when it comes to protecting yourself financially.
Thankfully, we live in an era where making money from home is easier than ever before. Thanks to digital marketing, there are so many options out there to make some extra money, or start an online business.
All it takes is taking some valuable knowledge that you possess, and marketing it to help other people solve some kind of a problem. And when it comes to being a mom, there are always questions to be answered!
In this post, I’m going to share 10 different digital product and service ideas to make money as a stay at home mom!

1. Parenting Guides and Ebooks
Guides and ebooks are some of the highest selling digital products out there. That’s because they help in solving some kind of problem. I can’t tell you how much easier early mom life would have been if Pinterest had been around! If you feel like your parenting methods for certain aspects would be beneficial to a wide range of people, I’m sure you can find people out there who will greatly appreciate what you’re offering.
You could create digital guides on the different aspects of parenting, covering topics like breastfeeding, managing tantrums, or sleep training.
2. Printable Planners and Organizers
It’s no secret that most moms are completely overwhelmed. With so many things to stay on top of like after school activities, games, dance recitals, doctors appointments, PTA meetings, etc, it can be really easy to lose your footing.
You could help by designing printable planners, organizers, and calendars to help busy moms stay organized with their daily tasks, meal planning, and more.
3. Kids Educational Material
If you’re a mom who homeschools or likes to give your child some extra academic challenges, like some worksheets to do after school or projects to do in the summertime, then you could definitely benefit from creating some educational material for other moms to do with their kids.
You could create things like digital worksheets, educational games, or learning resources for different age groups to support children’s education and development at home.
If you consider yourself a writer, you could even write children's books for Amazon! I also recommend creating chore charts for older kids! You could make a lot of these products as a print-on-demand type which is super convenient and very valuable to a lot of potential customers!
4. Fitness and Wellness Programs
If I didn’t have the ability to work out from home, I would probably never work out. Some days, I barely even make it to working out at home because I get so swamped with mom duties and entrepreneur duties. Having a fun and guided workout that can be done at home that is provided by a fellow mom who understands the struggle is absolutely wonderful!
If you are a mom who is passionate about health and fitness and you love helping other moms get their confidence back, this is probably right up your alley!
You could create a workout program in the form of a video course, or a printable workbook. You could also create guided meditation videos, or workout planners. Honestly, when it comes to fitness for moms, there are so many things you can do!
5. DIY Crafts and Home Decor Guides:
This is another topic that is particularly near and dear to me. Part of the reason I started digital marketing was so I could move into my Martha Stewart Era. Just like Martha, I love decorating my home and creating fun pieces myself.
I can tell you that I personally plan to create things like DIY tutorials, in video format, and printable with text and images. You could teach moms how to create holiday decor, every day simple home decor, scrapbooks, sewing projects, knitting, etc.
This is a super niche topic, but if you are a lady that is into woodworking, giving tutorials on building certain things would be SUPER valuable to A LOT of women!

6. Recipe Ebooks and Cooking Guides
Again, another topic that is personal for me. I currently create a lot of content centered around my time in the kitchen so I have many ideas when it comes to this category. I wouldn’t say I’m an expert, but I can confidently say I can offer some valuable advice.
Digital Cookbooks can be very profitable. If you take the time to create an eye-catching design for your product, and you’ve already proven that you can provide valuable content, your audience will be lining up to get this product immediately!
You could also do a video course, showing the step-by-step directions for creating different types of dishes. Bonus points for recipes that can be made with your kids!
There are also healthy meal plans for the nutrition minded mamas! Again, just so many options!
7. Mindfulness and Self Care Resources
We all know how important it is for us moms to take care of ourselves. As they say, you can’t pour from an empty cup. If you can do anything to help other moms find ways to prioritize their self care, you would be providing so much value!
You could develop meditation guides, mindfulness exercises in video format or as a printable guide/list, and self-care resources to help moms prioritize their mental and emotional well-being.
8. Home-Based Business Tips
Helping other moms start their own home based business is my total jam! If you’re a blogger, YouTuber, social media content creator, etc, then you have a great platform for getting eyes on your products.
You could create courses, Ebooks, workbooks, etc, on building a website, creating brand kits in Canva, picking an email marketing platform, creating content to attract customers, etc.

9. Digital Art and Design Templates
Another very fun aspect about creating content and other fun designs is that you can sell your creations to other people. If digital art is something you are really good at you could create digital art prints, custom illustrations, or design templates for greeting cards, invitations, and other personalized items.
I, personally, create templates for Instagram. If you’re a regular Instagram user, you know how important it is to have an aesthetically pleasing profile page. You can check out my templates here.
10. Online Courses for Skill Development
If you’re skilled in particular fields or activities, you could use that knowledge to create valuable educational materials for other moms who want to learn about certain types of skills.
You could develop online courses covering skills such as photography, writing, graphic design, or social media management, catering to moms who want to acquire new skills from home.
The wonderful thing about content creation is that there are so many other things you can do to earn an income from your time as a stay-at-home mom. Try not to think too hard about it and get creative with it. Just think of the things you love to do as a mom, or the things you’ve learned over the years that you want to pass along to newbie parents. As long as you have a good marketing strategy, you can find a way to earn an income from your ideas and creations!
Cheers to your creations!
